Nationwide event makes more than 800,000 meals accessible across 60+ cities

Chicago — October 24, 2023 — CoreGiving, a nonprofit organization founded to fight childhood hunger across the U.S., hosted its third annual CoreGiving Day on Thursday, October 5, 2023. This year’s event saw more than 2,400 employees from Blackstone and 16 of its real estate portfolio companies donate their time to support local food banks in over 60 cities, making more than 800,000 meals accessible for neighbors in need.

“Seeing these volunteers unite in the fight against childhood hunger was truly inspiring,” said Luke J. Petherbridge, chairman and co-founder of CoreGiving and chief executive officer of Link Logistics. "I eagerly look forward to CoreGiving Day each year, as it's a humbling experience to volunteer and help these organizations advance their critical work.”

To date in 2023, CoreGiving has raised funds to provide more than 14.4 million meals to children and families through partnerships with 75 hunger-relief organizations in 24 states.

“Our food bank partners rely on our funding and volunteer support to nourish millions of children and families across the country,” said Bridget O'Connell, executive director of CoreGiving. “Experiencing an 11 percent increase in CoreGiving Day participation compared to last year is fantastic. Engaging more companies and volunteers in our mission has enabled us to raise awareness about food insecurity in America and strengthen our support for local communities.”
